SCULPTURAL OBJECTS

Export continues the language of Flying Fish and Mahlzeit, but compresses it into the form of a crate. The fish-like elements are no longer suspended in open space but are packed, contained, prepared for movement. What had been airborne or performative becomes cargo, stock, shipment — an object caught between play, trade and displacement.
The work keeps the humour of the earlier pieces, but makes it sharper. The painted forms retain their lightness, while the crate gives them a harder social frame: storage, transport, export, removal
